cPanel is the control panel behind every Fast Hive shared hosting plan. It is where you manage files, databases, email accounts, SSL certificates, backups and one-click application installs. This guide covers all four ways to reach cPanel, what to do when your password does not work, and how to keep the login secure.

Before you start
  • An active Fast Hive shared hosting service.
  • Your Fast Hive client area login (the email address and password you signed up with).
  • If you are logging in directly, the server hostname from your welcome email.

Method 1 - Single sign-on from the client area (recommended)

This is the fastest and safest route. You never type your cPanel password, so there is nothing to forget and nothing to intercept.

  1. Go to my.fasthive.com/clientarea.php and sign in.
  2. Open Services → My Services, or click My Products & Services.
  3. Click the hosting package you want to manage. This opens the service management page.
  4. In the Actions panel on the left, click Login to cPanel.

A new tab opens and you are signed straight into cPanel. The session is authenticated by Fast Hive, so no password prompt appears.

Tip: If you manage several sites, the service management page also has one-click shortcuts straight to File Manager, Email Accounts, phpMyAdmin and Backup Wizard, so you can skip the cPanel home screen entirely.

Method 2 - Direct login using your domain

Once your domain resolves to your Fast Hive server, you can log in directly:

https://yourdomain.com/cpanel
https://yourdomain.com:2083

Enter your cPanel username and password from the welcome email. Port 2083 is the encrypted port and is the one you should use. Port 2082 is unencrypted and is best avoided.

Method 3 - Direct login using the server hostname

Use this when your domain is not pointing at Fast Hive yet, for example while you are still building the site or mid-migration. Your welcome email lists a server hostname such as srv-lon-14.fasthive.com. Browse to:

https://srv-lon-14.fasthive.com:2083

Replace the hostname with the one in your own welcome email. This works regardless of where your DNS currently points.

Method 4 - The cPanel mobile experience

cPanel is responsive, so any of the URLs above work on a phone or tablet. For quick jobs such as reading webmail or restoring a file, log in through the client area on your phone and use the same Login to cPanel button.

Finding or changing your cPanel password

Your cPanel username and initial password are in the New Account Information email sent when the service was provisioned. To change the password:

  1. Log in to cPanel using Method 1 above.
  2. Click your username in the top-right corner, then Password & Security.
  3. Enter your old password, then the new password twice.
  4. Click Change your password now!
Important: Changing the cPanel password also changes the password for FTP and SSH access using the main account. Update any deployment scripts, FTP clients or backup tools that use those credentials.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Cause and fix
The page will not load at all on :2083 Your office or ISP firewall is blocking non-standard ports. Try yourdomain.com/cpanel instead, switch to mobile data to confirm, or use Method 1.
"The login is invalid" The cPanel username is not your email address. It is a short name, often derived from your domain. Check your welcome email, or just use Method 1.
Login page loads, then immediately returns you to it Cookies are blocked or a stale session is cached. Clear cookies for the domain, or open the login in a private window.
"Your IP address has changed" on every page A VPN or mobile connection is rotating your IP mid-session. Disable the VPN for the duration of the session.
Locked out after repeated attempts Fast Hive applies rate limiting and IP reputation filtering to cPanel logins. Blocks usually clear on their own after a short cool-down. If yours does not, open a ticket with Technical Support and include your current public IP address.
Browser warns the certificate is not trusted You are using https://yourdomain.com:2083 before your SSL is issued. Use the server hostname URL from Method 3, which always presents a valid certificate.
"Login to cPanel" button is missing in the client area The service is pending, suspended, or has an unpaid invoice. Check the service status and your invoices.

Keeping the login secure

  • Prefer single sign-on. If you always use Method 1, your cPanel password is never typed into a browser and never phished.
  • Secure the client area first. Single sign-on means your Fast Hive account is the key to cPanel, so enable two-factor authentication under Account Security.
  • Do not share the main password with a developer. Create a dedicated FTP account instead, and remove it when the work is finished.
  • Never enter cPanel credentials from a link in an email. Type the address yourself or go through the client area.

Frequently asked questions

Is my cPanel password the same as my Fast Hive client area password?

No. They are two separate accounts. The client area password signs you in to my.fasthive.com; the cPanel password signs you in to the hosting control panel. Changing one does not change the other.

Can I log in to cPanel before my domain has propagated?

Yes. Use Method 1 or Method 3. Both work immediately after provisioning, which is why you can build a site while the domain still points somewhere else.

Do reseller and VPS customers use the same login?

Reseller accounts log in to WHM rather than cPanel, at port 2087, and each of your clients gets their own cPanel. On a VPS, cPanel is only present if you ordered it with the server.

How many people can be logged in at once?

There is no fixed limit, but simultaneous sessions from very different locations may trip the security filtering. If your team needs shared access, use sub-users in the client area rather than passing one password around.

Still cannot get in? Open a ticket with the Technical Support department from My Support Tickets. Include the domain, the exact error message and the URL you tried, and our engineers will check the server-side logs for you. Support is staffed 24/7.
