Your Fast Hive account details drive more than you might expect: where invoices and expiry warnings are sent, what tax is applied, which language the client area uses, and how we verify you when you contact support. This guide covers the Account Details screen, what each field affects, and the Email History tool that answers "did you actually send that?".
- Account Details - your name, email, phone, language and billing address.
- User Management - other people who can log in.
- Payment Methods - stored cards.
- Contacts - who receives which emails.
- Email History - every message we have sent you.
Updating your details
- Sign in and open Account Details.
- Edit the Personal Information fields: first and last name, email address, phone number (with its country code) and language.
- Edit the Billing Address: company name, address, city, state, postcode and country.
- Save.
What each field actually affects
| Field | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Email address | Your login, your password reset destination, and where invoices and expiry warnings arrive. The single most important field on the page. |
| Name | Used to verify you when you contact support, and shown on invoices. |
| Phone number | A recovery route if you lose access to your email, and how we reach you about anything urgent. |
| Language | Sets the client area language. Around 27 are available, including Arabic, Hebrew, French, German, Spanish and Russian. |
| Company name | Appears on invoices. Set it if you need business-addressed invoices for accounting. |
| Billing address and country | Determines the tax applied, and must match your card's registered address or payments get declined. |
Changing your email address safely
Because your email address is also your login, change it deliberately:
- Make sure you can currently access the new address.
- Update it in Account Details and save.
- Sign out and sign back in with the new address to confirm it works.
- Check that any sub-users and contacts are still correct.
- If you use two-factor authentication, confirm it still functions.
Email History - proof of what we sent
Email History in the Account menu lists every message Fast Hive has sent to your account, with the date and subject. You will see entries such as Invoice Generated, Customer Invoice, Invoice Payment Confirmation, Order Confirmation and New Product Information.
This is the tool to open when:
- An invoice or renewal notice supposedly never arrived - you can see whether it was sent, and when.
- You deleted a welcome email and need the details again.
- You want to confirm a payment confirmation was issued.
- You are checking whether reminders are reaching the right address.
If a message is listed here but never reached your inbox, the problem is delivery or filtering at your end - check spam and whitelist our domain.
Controlling which emails you receive
Email preferences are set per contact rather than globally. Open Manage Contacts and set the categories each person should receive: General, Invoice, Support, Product and Domain emails.
An annual five-minute review
- Is the account email address current, monitored, and independently hosted?
- Is the phone number right, with the correct country code?
- Is the billing address current, and does it match your card?
- Is a tax or VAT number recorded if your accountant needs one on invoices?
- Do the contacts in Manage Contacts still work at the company?
- Are there sub-users in User Management who should be removed?
- Is a valid, unexpired card stored in Payment Methods?
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause and fix |
|---|---|
| Details will not save | A required field is empty or a format is rejected - commonly the phone number without its country code, or a postcode that does not match the chosen country. |
| "Email address already in use" | It belongs to another account or a sub-user. Open a ticket with Accounts & Billing. |
| Emails listed in Email History never arrived | Delivery or filtering at your end. Check spam, whitelist our domain, and consider whether the address is hosted on a domain in this account. |
| Client area is in the wrong language | Change it in Account Details, or use the language selector in the page footer. |
| Payments declined after moving house | Your billing address no longer matches the card. Update both here and with your bank. |
| Invoices show the wrong company name | Update Company Name, then ask Accounts & Billing to reissue any invoice you still need corrected. |
| You need to transfer the account to someone else | A change of ownership requires verification - it is not simply an email address change. Open a ticket with Accounts & Billing. |
Frequently asked questions
Is my account email the same as my hosting email?
No. This is the address you log in with and receive billing notices at. Mailboxes you create in cPanel are entirely separate.
Can I have two email addresses on the account?
The account has one primary address, but you can add as many contacts as you like with their own email preferences.
Does changing my address change my invoices?
Future invoices use the new details. Existing ones are unchanged - ask for a reissue if you need one corrected.
Why does Fast Hive need my address at all?
Tax is calculated from it, payment providers verify against it, and it appears on invoices your accountant may need.
How do I add a VAT or tax number?
Add it in Account Details. Do this before invoices are generated, since reissuing afterwards is an extra step.
Can I close my account entirely?
Cancel your services first, back up anything you need, then contact Accounts & Billing. Remember that domains are separate and must be dealt with deliberately.
